WordPress plug-in not 'linking' with my domain? (5 posts)

My hosting is done through HostGator, I installed WP successfully and added a theme etc. However, when I add a post it doesn't show anything. My website is still the hostgator page.

So, I don't know why it didn't link successfully. When installing I made sure I put the wp blog as the homepage of my site rather then a sub.

    Can anyone help?

Have a look at your webiste using a different URL. Try

Obviously, change 'mydomain.com' for your own domain name. You should see your new WP installation. I'm 99% sure that you will. This is becaues you need to delete the index.html file from your hosting server. The way that the servers work are that they work on a page loading order for the main "index" page. In Hostgators caes, they work from index.html to index.php so if index.html exists it reads that, and if it doesn't exist it goes to index.php.

Thank you, but it still doesn't work.

Index.html has been deleted, I tried mydomain.com/index.php and html but no luck.

Then you'll have to contact Hostgator support and ask them what's happening with it. As it's their server they'll be able to answer your questions. It's extremly hard for us to do that when we don't even know what the domain is. ;)
