WordPress permalink what is involved to set it up (2 posts)

    I have my wordpress hosted with the permalink as a default.http://example.com/?p=N

    I would like to change it so I installed wordpress locally and activated rewrite_mode in Apache on my WAMP Server.

    I would like to use the customized permalink based on pages not posts since most of the instructions in the permalink is based on posts not pages.

    I don't have posts as I only have pages and subpages therefore I would like to set up my link based on this. Can I integrate subdomains and directory? How can I achieve this?

    I also read that I have to change something in this file .htaccess, I am unsure where to find it and what to change in it.

    My sites are entirely Pages, with no Posts. I didn't have to touch .htaccess but WordPress, of course, did.
