Hi everyone. I have a dilema. Im quite a novice so please bear with me. At the moment I am using wordpress.com and am using 123 reg to point to it. I am wanting to use wordpress.org as I feel it has alot of plugins that would be beneficial to me getting to page 1 on google. Am i right in thinking i need to buy hosting with 123 reg and upload wordpress.org onto it? If so, once its uploaded is it possible to transfere all my pages from wordpress.com into wordpress.org? or do i need to start from scratch? Once i have wordpress.org onto 123 do i then need to get 123 to unpoint to wordpress.com? Sorry if i sound stupid. Thanks

    Hello,

I work here at 123-reg. I thought I would post to see if we can be of any assistance to you. There is limited advice I can give you regarding the pages you already have set up with WordPress, however I can confirm that if you did wish to use 123-reg hosting, we do have a one click installation app for WordPress, if that would be of any interest to you? You can find more details about our hosting here:

With regards to changing where your domain name is pointed, once you have set up your new website, you will need to point the domain name to your hosting. You will normally do this by an A record, which will point to the IP address of your hosting. Whichever hosting provider you used would supply you with this and the guide below gives details on how to set this up for your domain name:

If I could be of any further help, please do ask,

    Regards,

    Nerys
