WordPress on Ubuntu 10.4

I installed Werdpress and it works only is I access it at:
http://www.domain.info/wordpress
WordPress is in /var/www/wordpress. I tried to install wordpress files in /var/www/ it did not work. The WordPress General Settings are:
WordPress Address (URL) http://damin.info/wordpress
Site Address (URL) http://domain.info/wordpressIf I change these settings to: http://domain.info I will probably break it.
Any ideas?
