Hello
i have fortunately installed wordpress on my pc and it looks good by typing http://localhost/wordpress...
but how could i view my blog from other computers? might be a silly question. i could register for a blog domain ok but why not use own pc as domain or may be the own homepage..
There are lots of reasons to not try and host this on your own computer unless you're very tech-savvy. When you run a webserver on your local PC and open it to the internet, then you had better know what you're doing. I would recommend spending a few bucks a months and get a shared account.

thanks that you have answered quickly.
i have got an account at my provider. how do i manage to install wordpress there and so on...
If they have an autoinstaller like Fantastico or Simple Scripts, that may be the easiest for you. Or if you want to install manually, this video may get your started.

So, you have successfully emulated a server environment on your local machine, installed WordPress and used it to satisfaction, but you do not understand the implications and difficulties of using your machine as a live server?
That's actually a bit scary.
Nonetheless, I think the answer to your immediate question is that you should install worpress on your "provider's page," then go to your localhost admin and create an export file for all your content.

I have the same question as, komensky. I understand its not good to open my local environment, to the internet. But anyway- how to open my locally installed wordpress blog or any php application for that reason to the internet?
Is it possible to view my locally installed blog on a different computer through internet?

Please read the following guide...
Making your site accessible from the Internet
The guide is written for the Abyss Web Server, but can be applied to most other web servers (Apache, IIS, etc). It explains the general steps for accessing your site within a network and outside a network. Hope this helps.
