    Hi all,

I am not happy with the default WordPress automatic emailer set-up on one of my websites and would like to tweak the settings. I do not want to do it in the pluggable.php because when I upgrade to a new version of WordPress I would have to redo the changes every time.

As you know, the default WordPress notification email sends as follows:

    • “WordPress” <wordpress@domain.com> [Blog Title] Notification Title

I would like it instead to be:

This better matches the format used by many major social websites and I think it is more professional.

Can someone help me walk through this? Do I need to create a plugin or is there a way I can do this somewhere that won’t be overwritten by WordPress upgrades each time? I searched for a plugin that does all of these things but cannot seem to find one.

It seems like if I needed to make a plugin for this, I could do so fairly easily as long as I was OK with making the changes in the file itself rather than the admin panel. If someone wants to help me do this, I will release the plugin publicly once it’s working and give you 100% of the credit… I’m sure someone else could benefit from it and I just want to get my blog looking a little more professional.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

    Regards,
    Ben Ballinger
