WordPress not working on Hostgator

I am a newbie to creating and editing websites. Yesterday I created an account with Hostgator to host my site. I began building my site with a generic site builder offered my Hostgator. I did NOT like it. So I found Word Press on my cpanel and decided to use it instead. The installation went fine, but when I clicked the link provided to me by Word Press I received an “Problem loading page” message. The message reads:
“The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.”

What do I do? I’ve never been able to access the Word Press Log-in page at all.
