   I hope someone can help me?!?!

   I had WordPress set up by a friend who set up a test site. Once the site was all working properly he created the live site.

   I have just gone to change the folder name of the test site as I want to use it for something else now and I think it is still linked to the live site in some way!!

   Changing the test site folder name from domain.com to domain.old has now messed up the live site and it is no longer working!!

   Can anyone suggest where I can a) change whatever has changed in the live site to get it working and b) disassociate the test site from the live site.

   I hope someone can come back to me with an answer.

   You cannot just change the folder name. There's an area in the admin panel - in the "Settings" where you tell the installation where the WordPress files are located (WordPress uRL) and where the site is located (Blog URL). If you go in and change the folder names, then you mess up this relationship.

   Return and renames the folders back to what they were. If you want to *move* your WordPress installation (or just change the name of it), then follow the instructions.
