the subdomain renders with this error at the top of the page.

Warning: preg_match() [function.preg-match]: Compilation failed: nothing to repeat at offset 1 in /home/content/e/t/c/etc/html/wp-includes/class-wp.php on line 198

I have wild card dns setup properly. network sites with own domain have no issue.

The subdomains worked fine until this update from 3.1.4 to 3.2. Please advise.

There is obviously an error in the script. It recognizes and renders the subdomain website, but with the error above. If it was the wildcard DNS then the site would not be found at all.

Does this happen to ALL subdomains or just one? (if you only have the one, you can say 'all').

Does this happen to your main site or JUST the subdomain(s)?

Have you tried turning off the plugins for that site?

I have found a rather simple work around solution. Unfortunately it does suggest there is an issue with WordPress 3.2 multisite administration.
when a new site is registered the error above begins immediately.

Once I went into Network Admin All Sites and clicked save on the info tab everything worked fine. Unless the site will using its own domain no changes need to be made just press save.

However if the site will be using its own domain name just replace the subdomain url with the domain url and it will work fine.

Additionally if media had been uploaded to the site already. the medialinks on posts andpages will need to be updated if using a domain name.

That sounds like something isn't being written correctly to the database until a hard save.

How would you suggest I go about correcting that. My host is GoDaddy. and reinstallation is really not an option.

I would ask GoDaddy for assistance, and tell them it looks like I have DB permissions issues.

Or make a second SQL ID for my database and change my wp-config to use that one.
