    Sub-Domain in Question

The server is hosted at Bigrock and does not have a dedicated IP.

The client purchased http://mukeshaudiovision.com from Bigrock.

Assumably, I should be able to point the new domain to the top-level domain (garodia.in) and the domain mapping plugin should re-route it to the sub-domain for the site. I have it mapped in the plugin already.

DNS records for the new domain (http://mukeshaudiovision.com):

Using Forwarding and Masking facility I am able to point http://mukeshaudiovision.com to mukeshaudiovision.garodia.in (this is just a landing page for now, so this is a temporary solution, but it works, however I can’t pass sub-directories on this domain as a limitation of the company the domain was purchased through.)
www CNAME garodia.in (this isn’t resolving, as you can check here)
    * CNAME garodia.in (also not working)

What am I doing wrong. I need to have this sorted out relatively quickly as I’ll need sub-directories for http://mukeshaudiovision.com to pass properly for further development.

You need to park the domain you want to map onto your WP install in you web account control panel.

Thanks Ron, I had purchased a domain and parked it now what is the next step I need to follow?

Sub-domain: omprakashagarwal.garodia.in (Domain and Hosting with Bigrock)

New Domain: omprakashagarwal.com (Domain with Godaddy and Parked)

I added CNAME record in my new domain registrar as

    www omprakashagarwal.garodia.in

Still it is pointing to default page. Waiting for your reply.

    Thanks in advance

    Where is omprakashagarwal.com parked?

Also, the CNAME should probably not include the www.

I had purchased and parked the domain(omprakashagarwal.com) from godaddy and my hosting is in Bigrock (main domain: garodia.in and sub-domain: omprakashagarwal.garodia.in)

    whereas CNAME record

    Host Points to
    www omprakashagarwal.garodia.in

Did you park the domain at godaddy (your DNS) or at bigrock (your web account)?

    domain is parked in godaddy

It needs to be parked onto your main site in your web hosting account. I’ve never parked a domain in godaddy DNS so I’m not sure what effect that will have on the domain name lookup.
