wordpress-mu-3.5.1.zip Not Found

    I am upgrading a WP MU site. On the dashboard it tells me that I am running WordPress 3.5.1 but the update nag and footer (get 3.5.1) are displaying.

    If I try to upgrade, I receive the error that wordpress-mu-3.5.1.zip cannot be found. I know that this doesn’t exist because MultiSite isn’t separate anymore.

    I have tried to disable the nag using “remove_action(‘admin_notices’,’update_nag’,3);” but it is still there. The nag actually says “WordPress MU 3.5.1 is available! Please update.” but again it says “You are using WordPress MU 3.5.1.”.

    I am out of ideas and in desperate need of a solution.

    What version were you on before you attempted to upgrade to 3.5.1?

    MU 2.7.9 I think

    Unfortunately, way too many things changed in WordPress (most significantly, WPMU was merged into the standard WordPress codebase) between WPMU 2.7.1 and WordPress 3.5.1, so you can’t really upgrade directly from one to the other.

    Instead, you have to follow an upgrade path, as laid out partially in this codex entry. Basically, you’ll probably need to upgrade from 2.7.1 to 2.8.3, then to 2.9, then to 3.0, then you might be able to go straight from 3.0 to 3.5.1.

    You can go from 2.7.1 to 2.9.x and then 3.0

    From 3.0 you can go straight to 3.5.1
