   When I click import under tools -> import wp just logs me out. Thats it. This is really annoying, I really need to import some posts. I have tried deactivating all my plugins, switching to the default twenty11 theme. Neither fixes the issue, this seems to have happened out of nowhere.

   I hate to ask this but have you tried doing a clean install?

   you mean reinstalling wordpress, thats seems a little drastic, but if I have to I will.

   Only reason is there may be a file missing/corrupt. I've had to reinstall on my local version only because I've edited a needed file.

   I have tried just reinstalling under the update pain, to no avail. I think I will just to a brand new install of wordpress

   seems to have been a problem with safari, I reset safari and it is working now.

   Weird, were you using a clean install of Safari or did it have add ons? Which version of safari?

    Thanks Anderskitson, I have observed some occasional off redirect behavior in WordPress on Safari before (<1 in 1000) requests that I thought was just my lack of caffeine, but I'd like to track it down sometime.
