Okay I got a huge problem and I hope someone can help me. I got "kicked out" of wordpress last night and now when I try to login, it redirects me to my homepage instead of my dashboard and there is no way for me to get to my dashboard. You can type in whatever password you want and it doesn't say invalid password or anything. Just redirects to my website. Hostgator disabled my theme and all plugins and switched it back to default. They also backed up everything and reinstalled the "core files" and they were still not able to fix the problem and just told me "I'm sorry" and to open a ticket here to see if things could get help. This is how I make my living so I would greatly appreciate any help possible. Thanks in advance!

*Also, note that when I try to "reset" my password it won't send me a link to change it.*

    [ No bumping please. ]

Did you try deleting the .htaccess file (after making a backup copy, of course!)?

Can you access your files on the server using FTP or your host's file manager. Look for a hidden text file in your WordPress install directory, called .htaccess and delete it.

.htaccess is the most likely culprit for redirecting your url. When you get back into your admin area, go to Settings / Permalinks, set to your choice and click Save changes. WordPress should make a new .htaccess.

Yes, that is the advice I got, but when I used my host server, there is no .htaccess file! I used the 'show hidden files' but still got nothing!

I've assumed perhaps wrongly that your server is running Apache. If it is running Windows, the file we are looking for is called web.config. Do you have that?

I think Hostgater support is the way to go. They have access to your file space.
