• I recently updated wordpress and switch to a new theme i installed but after a couple of days the blog jumps back to the default theme. I had the same problem before. I don’t know what could be wrong. Does anyone have any clues

  • You had the same problem before? Haha, I’ve never heard of this, what a strange issue. No one else knows your admin password/is changing your theme? You’re not just previewing the theme, you’re activating it, correct? Are you using the Turbo setting (Google gears)? Do you have a caching plugin? Is your host restoring from an old backup -this happens often unfortunately…

Unfortunatly no one knows the password, i am activating the theme, Not using turbo setting, don’t have a caching plugin. I don’t think my host is restoring from old backups since i don’t lose infomartion

    Common problem.

This is usually a sign of a flaky server. When the active theme is not found or not accessible by WordPress, it switches back to the default theme. Any number of server problems can cause that to happen.

Short answer: Put your theme in the default folder. Then it can’t revert to anything but itself.

That’s good due diligence! Extra ice-cream for the developer.

    What can cause the flakiness?

Great idea!! will do. I use pandela i think it’s pretty good. Thanks to both.

This is exactly the same problem I’m having with my site after upgrading. I just posted it under “theme won’t hold.”
