WordPress issue with menu and thumbnails (4 posts)

Ho I have a wordpress issue I need help with.

My thumbnail images are not showing up and the no new menu items such as pages or categories can be added to the menu.

Both theme developers and my hosting comp are not helping me as they are saying this is a 'design' issue. This is what they said.

The engineers have stated that this appears to be a permissions issue where the site itself does not have permission to access the required files, or the required PHP script does not have execution permissions.

After taking a look at the permissions and 'regenerate thumbnails' plugin it appears as though the plugin cannot locate the images.

We have amended the permissions on all folders within the 'wp-content/uploads' directory as these were not writeable by admin.

After amending we have tested the folder permissions by editing a random image via wp-admin which now saves where as previously it returned a permissions error.

This leads me to lean towards an error either with the plugin install or an error within the plugin itself rather than folder permissions.

But that plugin has been deactivated and deleted and the problem is still there, has anyone experienced this and or able to provide support?

My site is http://www.meltingposts.com on wordpress 3.4.2 and its a shared server.

Try changing the permissions on the wp-content directory to 766. If you still have problems, try 767, 775 or 777.

That depends upon the hosts' server configuration.
