WordPress Issue on newly Installed PC (2 posts)

I have an issue I hope someone can help me with.
I am very very new to WordPress. I have a client who uses it and has successfully on their PC for the last 12 - 18 months.
They recently asked me to re-install their PC as the PC was very slow. I have re-installed hundreds of PC in the past. I reinstalled Windows XP on the PC.
Everything on the PC works fine, except for when they login to their website and attempt to make changes. We have IE version 8 and Mozilla Firefox version 3.5.7 installed.
Strangely enought the issue is happening on his new PC set-up and my PC as well. If we revert his PC set-up back to his old hard drive and set-up the system works fine.

The issue is that when we log into his website the bottom left toolbar of the browser shows up "Error on Page"
If we then click on "Manage" we can see the list of Managed Posts.
If we click into one of those posts nothing comes up in the Post box. If we click on HTML, it shows the HTML code for that page then if we click on Visual again the page information will show up. If we then make a change to to content and click on SAVE, the message appears.....Are you sure you want to navigate away from this page? The changes you made will be lost if you navigate away from this page. Press OK to continue, or Cancel to stay on the current page.
This did not happen on the old PC set-up of his but it happens on the new one, and on my PC.
If we click OK it goes back into that Post, the Post box is blank, click on HTML the code comes up, click on Visual the content comes up, but the change we made is not there.

I can not understand what this is doing. It does not allow us to update the site at all. It shows a list of Post revisions at the bottom of the page with correct dates and times, however the posts are not being caved.

Is there a particular setting we need to activate in IE and Mozilla in order the for the system to be able to save posts?
Is there maybe a security feature in WordPress where the user can set which PC's can update posts?
I just found that I can amend text in the title box but still not in the post box??

    Any help would be appreciated
    Thanks

I have just found that I can amend a post body in the HTML editor but not when in Visual editor.
I can do it on the clients OLD pc set-up, but I can not do it on my PC or the clients new PC setup.

Could it maybe something to do with a Windows update interfering with WordPress 2.6.2
