• I created a child stylesheet and added one little change that took effect. I’ve since added other changes but they are ignored, even after reloading my site. I thought there was something wrong with the new code at first but then grew suspicious that no new code worked. Then I tried deleting the original bit of code I added, and that had no effect–so the changes that the first bit of code created are still there, even though the code is not! It’s like the site read the stylesheet once after my initial changes and now refuses to look at it again. What’s the problem?

    Thanks,
    Matt

  • Child stylesheet? Or child theme?

    The themes/twentyeleven-child/style.css document.
I just created themes/twentyeleven-child/footer.css and made changes to that which took effect, so it looks like it’s just the stye.css document.

Site url? All of your new CSS should be in the child’s style.css file. If it’s not working as it should, then you may have an error in that file. Have you validated it?

Ah, I found a site that validates css code. It pointed out some code I copied from a set of instructions that were apparently faulty and messing everything up. Problem solved. 🙂

    Thank you.
