poorcookieI've been searching for a script that would help me manage a poetry site with ease. It's only for myself, not for others to register and post their poetry as well. I had no luck in finding something good enough...
Bottom line is, I have had almost no experience with PHP and I can't deal with content managers like Joomla, etc. It seems easy enough at first, but it's really hard to customize it the way I want it to be. Unless anyone has any suggestions for scripts that are VERY easy to customize for someone like me, I have another idea.
Since I love WordPress and I'm using it for my blog and photo gallery, I thought it might be the solution to my poetry site problems too. I'm having trouble on how to even make this possible though.
So I would create a WordPress site and post poetry on there. However, since WordPress is a blog the most recent post will show up on the index. That's not what I want...I want visitors to see a page where news will be displayed (telling visitors what I updated). Does anyone have any genius ideas on how to achieve this? :) I was trying to figure something out with iframes but I can't think of anything that would work...

I thought it would be fitting to organize the poems alphabetically.
Does anyone else know of any other plugins I may be able to use to make my site more "poetry-like"?
