wordpress install with phpmyadmin

so i’ve followed all the steps listed in the codex for installing wordpress on my host server. i use supremeserver, they have php 4.4 and everything else, however when i get to the part where you go to wp-install.php i’m definitely at the right url but all that shows up on the screen is the text ‘philadams.org’ which is my site’s url. what has gone wrong?
