"wordpress" in URL and will not go away
-
I am having a problem with “wordpress” being in my site URL. I can go to the site by entering “northwestfloridafirearmstraining.com” into the address bar and everything works fine.
Everything still works when I visit one of the other pages such as the About Us page, but “wordpress” is automatically added into the URL. It looks like this: “northwestfloridafirearmstraining.com/wordpress/about-us/”.
If I delete the “/wordpress” and just leave “northwestfloridafirearmstraining.com/wordpress/about-us/” it still works. But as soon as I go to a new page it is added back.
The WordPress Address and the Site Address in the general settings of wp-admin are showing “northwestfloridafirearmstraining.com/wordpress” but both are greyed out and can’t be changed. This seems like they must be hard coded somewhere, but I’m not sure.
These are the things I have done so far.
- Searched the database and looked for and removed any instances where “/wordpress” followed “northwestfloridafirearmstraining.com”.
- Checked the wpconfig file. The site url and the wordpress url both have wordpress added to the end. When I removed it and saved my changes I could go to the home page but none of the other pages worked. I was given a 404 error. Both of the addresses in wpadmin reflected this change. I changed this back for now to get the site at least working.
- On another thread it said to check the htaccess file. I checked and there is no htaccess file in the root folder. There is a file named htaccess-old.
Any advice on what else I could do would be greatly appreciated.
