For the past weeks I have noticed that I cannot add tags in posts, I cannot add categories in posts.
Today I noticed that I cannot add or rearrange widgets.
I can also no longer add images to galleries via the web.
WordPress in unresponsive to me.
How do I remedy this???

It does not matter what browser I am in or if I am on a mac or pc.
Have you tried:
- deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
- switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems?
- resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

That is exactly what the problem was.
One plugin made a lot of features ineffective and another (deactivated) was messing with things as well.
