• Hi everyone!

Could you tell me if I should or could use WordPress for the following website scenario? (I use WP on one site only where I am only allowed to edit posts and pages :))

The website would contain (professional) song lyrics of several-to-many contributors, so they would need personal and registered access to add and edit stuff; and they should of course NOT be able to edit the stuff of other people.

The theme or template should be of the kind that a visitor (a professional songwriter) can easily browse and flick through the many different “main pages” of each of the contributors. From the main page of the contributor the visitor could then click to the “lower pages” ie. all lyrics of the contributor.

(Searches and tags are also needed, but I understand they are always available.)

I suppose all this would need a special template and plug-in(s).

So: could I do this in WordPress? Can you recommend the parts I would need? Could I do this more easily in WordPress.com or must I use wordpress.org and get seriously out of my comfort zone?

If you don’t recommend WordPress, do you know of any other website platforms that you could recommend?

Thanks if you can advise me!

    JK

Thank you, batharoy. You quite correctly read that I’m at a very very basic level of WordPress knowledge, and I will read the guide in the link throughly.

However, if anyone can lead me to templates or plug-ins that could be of use in a multi-user lyrics site: thank you. I’m NOT asking to do searching: that’s my responsibility and I’m not lazy, just trying to avoid avoidable searching. So if you already know of, or have even tried, useful tools I’d be happy with a lead. 🙂
