    That indicates an issue with the nonces that were added to the front-side forms in 2.8.1.

    Are you using a cache plugin? If so, that would indicate that the registration form is being served as a cached form with an expired nonce.

    Give the 2.8.2 beta release a try. It is mostly complete and the front-side nonce issue was corrected (and also turned off by default).
