Can i un-install and re-install just my editor. My editor has been broken for this 1 website since the beginning. It is now stuck in HTML mode and appears to be continually updating. How can I un-install and re-install?

  • Have you tried deactivating some plugins to see if maybe a plugin could be interfering with the editor?

yes I will try more but is there somewhere I can get someone to look at it? Hostzilla says I will loose everything if I un install. I will try turning off plug ins but I do not understand how this would affect the editor. I wish I could get someone to look at it?

No one here has suggested uninstalling WordPress. Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Twelve theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

Cam I delete the editor somehow? Its too hard to explain I need help!

No – you cannot delete the core WordPress editors. If you cannot manage this yourself, perhaps you need to consider hiring someone to carry out the work for you.

Thanks. I feel like such a looser but I know I did not do this. This has been a problem from the start. its like when wordpress originally uploaded it uploaded 2 on top of each other. so I will deactivate the plugins and make copies of pages because I am afraid backups will still have duplications. change themes again which I have done numerous times to no avail. Last resort is to start all over somehow. This website is not important enough to hire someone.

yeah I went to fantastico and updated wordpress and it worked. Yeah Yeah. I did it! All by myself!

Glad that you were able to figure it out.
