WordPress Editor

Ok the WordPress post/page editor thing, loves to put <p> tags around EVERYTHING! How can I get it to stop this. For example lets say I wanted to edit in a <div> tag. I do NOT want <p> tags around it as this causes invalid html :/ HELP!
