I have installed WordPress 2.9.2 on my Ubuntu box. I planning to publish this blog to local network not to internet. Everything works great. The problems came when I access this blog from other computers. I have no clue where to start to solve this problem.

I am putting two capture files. One is from local machine. The other one is from a XP computer in the local network. Thank you for helps.

  2. It won't work because you set localhost for the two URLs at Settings/General, which means that's where WordPress is going to reference the theme files and images. I may be able to view your blog at the IP, but due to the way WordPress handles its location, my browser will be looking in my localhost for the theme files, which I obviously don't have, hence the lack of images and style elements.

Try using the IP instead of localhost for the two URL values at Settings/General in your admin panel.

Thank you James. I solved this problem by changing WordPress address and Blog address in Setting/General as you pointed out. It was http://127.0.0.1/wordpress for both. So, I could see the blog in local machine. But I couldn't from another computer in the same local network. Now, I replaced 127.0.0.1 to the IP address of the wordpress hosting computer. And it fixed it. I still do not understand completely. But it was big help for me. Thank you again.

  4. You're welcome!
