WordPress Corporate Use: Single Server Install - multiple blogs and RSS? (5 posts)

I recently installed WordPress on an Ubuntu box in my IT department. Smoothe, easy install - thanks WordPress team! Now my questions...

I want to use WordPress as an intranet corporate blog site, allowing different departments to have their own sections, and I would like RSS feeds for each of those separate sections. Is this possible with a single server installation of WordPress (v2.3.3)?

If WordPress isn't the solution, then I don't know what is. I could setup a Joomla or Drupal server, but I want the ease and functionality of a blog, not necessarily a CMS.

    Any ideas / suggestions please?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Check out http://mu.wordpress.org . It might fit your needs better. It is multi-user, letting you run multiple, different, blogs off just one system. Much more suitable for this sort of thing.

    ^ Otto beat me ^

Or you could try WordPress MU, which would allow each department to have their own separate blog and users and rss feed. http://mu.wordpress.org. Pretty simple installation.

You can also check out WP Hive. Works for WP 2.5 and above.
