    Hi, does anyone know if it is possible to remove comments from certain pages on a wordpress site.

    I want the comment option available on all pages apart from the Home page and Contact page, thanks in advance for your help…

  • for instance:

    dashboard – pages – all pages – click ‘quick-edit’ below the page title – untick ‘allow comments’

    Wow, cool… why is this option only available in Quick Edit and not in the Full Edit, thanks for your help

    to have the option in full edit, you need to click the ‘screen options’ tab near the top right, and tick the box for ‘discussion’ – then you will have the ‘allow comments’ options back below the page editor window…

    Thanks… you learn something new everyday… i never even noticed the screen options there before… thanks…

    One final question… on a previous site, just after i had set it all up, i disabled comments in the main wordpress settings, but when i went to enable them again, i had to delete all of the pages and add them again so that the comments section would appear on those pages… does this sound normal, thanks again…

    changes to the main setting comment options only take effect on posts/pages created after that change;

    you would need to adjust each existing post/page using the method described at the beginning of this topic.
