    Hi there,

I´m a girl from Sweden, and i don´t write in english very often, so i start with a apology for my bad spelling!

I don´t know very much about PHP yet, but i am trying to build my own theme =)

I have used a guide and made my file structure from scratch. The guide has the usual html structure with Heading, Main content, Sidebar and Footer.
But, in this Sidebar, they have two widget-areas. I don´t want them! I want my Sidebar to act just like the Main-content. I want to be able to put what ever i want in my Sidebar, and i want to be able to edit the Sidebar from my Admin-area.

I have been trying some different things.. I have made a php file called Aside.php made with "Template name: Aside", so i can choose to use that as a template when i add a New page in Admin.
And i have tried to connect the Page.php to the Aside.php, but i made it obviously the wrong way...

So, how is the easiest way to do this? Maybe i do all of this the wrong way...?

I would be very grateful for answers. I hope you will understand my swenglish.. =)

    Hi

I want to be able to put what ever i want in my Sidebar, and i want to be able to edit the Sidebar from my Admin-area.

but that is exactly what the widget areas are for... why are you against using widgets in this case?

Your swenglish is fine. The problem is trying to visialise what you want. Maybe create a html page or a mockup to show what you want the end product to look like.

Do you have a working example of what you have done so far?
