   I've been waiting for WordPress Automatic Upgrade to nag me about upgrading to 2.9 but it seems it cannot detect the new 2.9 version.

   I've deleted the WAU plugin, re-installed and it still doesn't detect 2.9.

   Anyone else with a similar problem?

   Try forcing an upgrade via Admin/Tools. And get rid of the WAU plugin. You don't need it.
