• I wonder if anyone here can help, I have a very strange issue with one of my websites that is WordPress with the Classipress Classified Advert Theme installed, I have asked Appthemes for support but they do not have any idea why the problem is happening.

The problem I have is that sometimes when an advert is posted, a duplicate Add New page is created and replaces the post a new add button with the Title of the offending advert, the Add New link actually chnages and points to this advert, I am not asking for someone to fix the problem for me, just a rough idea of where I should start looking in order to correct the problem, I have replaced all of the theme files with the Original files, I dont know if it may be a plugin causing the problem because it only happens every now an then so disabling all the plugins is not really an option. I have put a screenshot of the page that is created and the website link

Not sure why the link has not worked but it should

Deactivating plugins is standard troubleshooting. As is switching to a default theme.

That site appears to be using “sporty” theme?

I dont seem to be able to upload the image either, thanks for taking the time to look, this problem only happen sometimes so disabling all plugins is not going to help with the problem, its definitely related to the theme as the problem is when a User posts an Advert rather than a standard blog post, Appthemes dont have the answer which is normally the case unfortunately

I fixed your link above. Deactivating plugins would be the standard approach, but you also have a lot of mark-up errors – don’t know if they are at all related:

    http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.costasonline.com%2Fads%2F&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0

Have you asked ClassiPress about this?

Sorry, we cross-posted – if it’s a theme issue, unlikely anyone here can help as we don’t have access to commercial themes and they are not supported on these forums.

    Other debugging you could try:

Thanks for pointing that out to me, it a least give me a few weeks work to try and fix all the errors 🙂

Thanks alot for that WPyogi, at least you give me some advice on how to start to diagnose some of the problems, I am fairly new to WordPress but am not bad with Code so perhaps I can fix my problems using these things.

    Thanks again

This is for Giancarlo, Not sure why I cant see his comment on here, I have not resolved the problem I am afraid amigo, the Mark up error mentioned above is my slider which does not validate and the plugin developer does not consider this to be very important, I will offer you some advice to help you though Giancarlo, I no longer allow people to post on my property site, I do on the Classifieds Advert site which is not as important to me, I just remove the Duplicated Page if someone posts an Advert (This is when the pages appear but no all the time)
the problem is definitely related to the theme you use and not a general WordPress issue, I would try and get some support from the Theme Developer, Nobody seems to know how to fix the problem with my Classipress theme websites, I have a feeling the problem is because of the Custom Post types that Classipress uses, If I fix the problem I will let you know..
