WordPress Admin area temporarily disabled (3 posts)

Been doing some updates to my theme recently, and received this message when trying to login to WordPress Admin:

"WordPress administrator area access disabled temporarily due to widespread brute force attacks."

Been that way for a good 6 or so hours...searched high and low for a solution, with no luck. This is also showing up for other subdomain wordpress installs we have as well. Any ideas? Is this a built in security feature of WordPress or is my web host giving this message?

Any help would be very appreciated, thanks.

Yes, this is a server/host problem related to widespread brute force attacks on many hosting companies - here's a couple of reports (there are many others):

Check with your host about your particular situation.

Thanks for the info! Hopefully it will blow over soon.
