WordPress 3.9 – Visual Mode of the Editor fails

Hi,

I’ve updated to WordPress Version 9.0 today.

Now the visual mode of the editor (I had TinyMCE Avanced installed, but I also tried the editor WP Edit and also disactivating and activating in order to be sure that I’s not a problem of the plugin) isn’t working anymore.

Can anybody help me? Am I the only one who has this problem?

Have you tried the steps outlined in this post?

With the Visual Editor the javascript console can really help identify where the problem lies.

If you can do those steps and provide that info here then others may be able to find where the problem is and suggest a fix for you.

I was having the *exact* same issue where my Visual and Text mode weren’t working. I went to the article Jan linked to : https://wordpress.org/support/topic/wordpress-39-master-list?replies=4&view=all#post-5463759

and noticed that Ziplist Recipe Plugin was written as an issue. I disabled the Ziplist and now my Visual and Text mode are working.

For now I have to disable the plugin every time I want to write or edit a post. But then reactivate right after, otherwise all the posts won’t have the recipe show up.

I’m REALLY hoping there is a fix otherwise I’m going to have to rewrite ALL my recipes on a different plugin. I could cry.

This part cheers me immensely.

I’m less happy that your plugin isn’t working. Let’s see if the plugin author updates their plugin. The plugin authors should have received an email outlining some of the 3.9 changes that they may need to fix in their plugin.

Hi,
I have updated WP to 3.9 a few minutes ago.
– I have no toolbar anymore at the top of the editing section,
– I can’t add media anymore.
– Permalinks in my text editing turned to numbers…
Does anyone think it comes from the latest WP version, what should I do ? Is it possible to reverd to 3.8 ?

Recipe SEO and Nutrition Plugin is another one that needs deactivated for it to work.

I’ve found the plugin who causes the problem in my case. It’s the plugin qtranslate.
