WordPress 404's on Updating a post from the WP Admin

    Hi there,

    Running into an unusual issue on one of the blogs I maintain.

    When attempting to update a post from the WP-Admin I get a 404 error. However, updating the same post from a desktop client, or from the iPad works perfectly fine.

    Pages also update fine in the WP-Admin, It’s just a post issue.

    Not entirely sure what to look for. I’ve tried a number of HTACCESS changes and variants that other people have recommended.

    I’ve checked for PHP error logs, but with no success, and done the usual sweep of disabling all themes, and plugins to see if that helps, and now I’m stumped for ideas.

    Any suggestions?

    Can you create a new test post and page? If so, the issue is likely what we shall just term ‘garble’ in that post…trash and then delete it and recreate with same title and slug. Did that work?

    Thanks for the reply, To answer your question:

    – I can create and update Pages with no problems what so ever
    – I cannot create and update Posts at all. Every time results in a 404 on wp-admin/post.php

    Which makes no sense to me, as creating a page also uses wp-admin/post.php

    Any body else got any ideas that I can try. The inability to create posts is a bit annoying and I’d rather not have to tear down the site and have to rebuild it.
