• I keep having glichy things happening on my wordpress site. I tried disabling all the plugins but that did not fix my problem.

When I click to hyperlink text the screen turns all grey. The only way I can get out is to leave the page and use autosave to pull it back up.

Also, I am getting the old media library style instead of the new one.

  • Did you recently upgrade to WordPress 3.5?

No, I upgraded when it first came out. I get the new media library for a while, then it changes back to the old one. Now I have the old media library style and the hyperlink doesn’t work. It gives me a javascript on the bottom left of the screen and it appears the entire screen is lighting up to link. Locks me out and I have to leave page.

I also noticed after I posted that my underline doesn’t work either. Not sure the relation there and could be a plugin problem. I deactivated them all but it made no difference. Do I have to deactivate and go out of WordPress then back in or does it matter?

Meant to add: my site is http://www.denvermethodist.org. It has been really strange for me in that sometimes my pdf’s don’t display and then randomly do without any plugin update.

And now the new media library is back. However, still no luck with link. Could it be my browser? I use Chrome. Anyone else have this where functions come and go without updates?

Sorry, figured out that the media library shows in the new way when I go from within a page but, when I choose media from the side bar I get the old version. Looks like that is inherent in 3.5.

Now that makes sense. However, I still need help with hyperlink not working. Is it just me or are others having an issue? That alone would help me isolate my problem to theme, plugin, wordpress 3.5, etc.

I did a work around by inserting a mail button and linking it to the email address I wanted to link.

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

I did deactivate them and it made no change. However, I will try using my FTP. Is there a list anywhere of potential trouble causing plugins? That seems like something helpful since I see the “deactivate all plugins” over and over. I would rather deactivate one or so that are causing issues rather than deactivating them all but alas, I digress.

Is there a list anywhere of potential trouble causing plugins?

Try reviewing http://wordpress.org/support/topic/troubleshooting-wordpress-35-master-list However, that list is not exhaustive, so you are advised to start troubleshooting from a standpoint of no active plugins and using the default theme.

I, too am having this issue. Everything works but the hyperlink. The other thing i am NOT seeing is how to change the font size and style other than in the drop down bar with header sizes. Making me crazy now. It’s been about five days with no luck.

I deactivated all plug-ins but it still didn’t work.

Is there a tech desk for WordPress? Or am I living in a dream world? 🙂

I am a do-it-yourselfer. Will check out YouTube.

    @active,
You can discuss that in your own thread and no, there is no Tech Support for WordPress.
