Hi, I updated to WordPress 3.4 and suddenly the admin dashboard couldnt connect the database… It works fine at the site, but the dashboard doesnt works… I am pretty sure I got correct configuiration in wp-config.php, what should I do? Its really important that this gets fixed in the next hour… 😛

So, what should I do to fix it?

  • Try:
    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.

    – running the upgrade manually via wp-admin/upgrade.php

Thanks the first thing worked… 🙂 But another thing, in the update there was adding theme custumization and such, why dont I (the admin) got rights to custumize it?

You do. Via the Appearance sub-menus. The range of options available will vary from theme to theme but, at the very least, you will have a theme editor that you can use.
