    Hi,

    I have a wordpress install in a subdomain of a main domain ...

    a.com it's main domain and b.com it's subdomain of a.com, where the wordpress is installed.

    what I would like to do is to avoid that b.com to be accessed through a.com, ex: b.a.com or a.com/b

    so i set the following rules in cpanel redirect

    b.a.com -> redirect into a.com homepage working
    a.com/b -> redirect into a.com homepage ... not working and I can't figure why .. the subfolder can't be redirected ...

    thanks

    Thanks.

    But what intrigues me is the fact, that I set up some rules into .htaccess and wordpress is bypassing that rules. How is that possible ?

    So you mean that I have to wait for 3.4.1 release till I get this working ?

    if they really fix it on 3.4.1 if not, you have to wait until 5.0

    but I don't understand how wp, can overwrite a rule written in .htaccess ... all I want is to redirect

    a.com/b.com/* to a.com/404.shtml

    b.com being a folder in public_html ...
    in root and b.com I have 2 different wp installs.
    I've tryed as a test creating a new folder z.com with a simple index.html and the redirect works, so now I'm sure the issue is related to wordpress.

    So let's hope someone help us on it or we will need to wait some years for it

    Well, I've installed Drupal and guess what ?
    Same issue with .htaccess redirecting as well.

    I don't know anymore what to understood now and how can I find a workaround for my issue.
