WordPress 3 Framework: Thelonious? (6 posts)

Anyone know a good framework to theme with? It seems that Thelonious is the only theme that follows the new loop/flow of WordPress 3 (obviously). Are there any other frameworks (Thematic, Hybrid, etc...) which are now updated for the WordPress 3 environment?

I know that you can upgrade thematic so it works with the new menu system. Everything else can just be added to the function.php file.

There is a tutorial on this subject, but I cannot remember who wrote it... try google on "thematic compatibility to wordpress 3.0" or something like that and you shall find it.

    Good luck!

Hmm..I tried Thematic already. Someone told me thaT the alpha for thematikc is WP3 compatible outright. I believe it because I installed Thematic and it doesn't have the new loop.php file. This alpha on Google Code looks okay but I'm not. Comfy installing Alpha on a live or mission-critical site.

Anyh other WP3 sandbox frameworks ?

I did search up and down for greatdanemaniac's suggestion of finding the article that helps convert Thematic into the WP3 environment. However, nothing is turning up. So, can you please provide me the link of the article you speak of?

Sorry, that I haven't responded to your post.

I'm sorry, but I do not know the link for this tutorial. Can't remember the name of the guy who wrote it...

I hope you find what you're looking for eventually.

    Good luck!

There is no new new loop structure for WordPress 3.0. What you see in the new TwentyTen (default theme) is a file called loop.php that's loaded using get_template_part(). Now, get_template_part() is a new function. But, tons of theme authors have used a loop.php file before.

Basically, what they've done is strip the loop from regular templates and made one gigantically messy file with a bunch of conditional tags.
