   I have never had problems using the automatic upgrade for WordPress. However, when I tried to automatically upgrade to WP 2.9.2, I keep getting the following:

   "Downloading update from http://wordpress.org/wordpress-2.9.2.zip.

   Unpacking the update."

   And then it stalls and nothing happens after that (the browser finishes loading). Is there something I am missing? This is so weird, and it has never happened to me before.

   Along with this, I am now getting the error "Internal Server Error" quite often. I don't know if something funky in my server is causing the WordPress stall, or if the WordPress stall (and my repeated attempts to upgrade) caused the something funky in my server!!

   Any help is much appreciated.

   Try increasing your memory in root/wp-settings.php

   On line 13 you should have

   define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '32M');

   Change it to 64MB

   Don't mess with wp-settings.php. Use the options outlined in this post instead.
