I’ll ask Mark but aweber.com is an email marketing firm that likely is used as a listserv. Since you say that its going to an account that you have not provided to wordfence, I am a little confused. I did get the same email about the slider revolution fix (important to update if you have this!)

I’ll let you know what I hear.

    Thanks a lot Tim,
I forgot to say that the email I get normally from WordFence to the email address listed in the plugin are sent with my username@myprovider and the title begins always with [Wordfence Alert] …… and this email i received in my other email account was beginning with [WordPress Security] …..

    Hi,

Your plugin has it’s own email alerting. Then we also run a WordPress security email list which lets us send out global messages about vulnerabilities and security news to our customers.

When you first installed Wordfence we gave you the option to sign up for that during the tour and you must have chosen to sign up with the email address at which this message was received.

We use an outside company called Aweber to send these emails. No one but us has access to your email and every email we send contains unsubscribe instructions at the very top of the email message. So if you want to stop receiving those security alerts just use those instructions to unsubscribe. But in general they’re quite informative and contain some urgent alerts.

    Regards,

    Mark.

I tried to unsubscribe several times (using the provided link in the email), but each time I was sent to a page that stated: “None of your subscriptions have been changed. If you wish to unsubscribe or subscribe to a list, hit the back button on your browser, and then check or uncheck the appropriate boxes.”

Which I did, and was promptly sent back to the same message.
I received the same message whether I chose to subscribe or unsubscribe.

Is there another way to unsubscribe?

    Kind Regards

I’ll get with Mark and see. Send me an email from the email you get these emails sent to.. tim [at] wordfence.com and reference this post with a link.

    tim
