word press on my domain

    I started my blog with the Word Press software that the host offered. It is very limited and I cannot put up any video. I called them and they said the only way to do it was to go through Word Press but host the blog on my site. The problem is they said I would lose everything I have done when I start over.

    Is this true? Is there some way around this?
    I appreciate any and all advice.

    Not knowing anything about what “Word Press software that the host offered” means here (is it WordPress as we support here, or is it a multi-blog service like http://wordpress.com ?), I’d have to ask if your current ‘WordPress’ blog has an export feature? (It would be under Manage.)

    Yes, that is it!!!! It says it will make file for me on my computer and then I can upload it to the new blog.

    I am thinking that going through Word Press will give me more options. There are very few with the small program the host offers.
