The error usually means that php is not installed/running on the server, or that it is incorrectly configured. Contact your host and let them know. They should be able to guide you.
The host I am planning to use is Word Press. Don't I have to install WP on my computer first so I can write a posting?
No - not unless you want to set up your own local web server first. WordPress needs to be installed on your hosted domain/site. All of your authoring is then carried out online.
OK. Then how do I create a blog for myself on WP and then post to it?
You first need to have hosting set up, if you haven't I'd suggest checking out wordpress.com and signing up for a blog there, they'll host it for you instead.
