• i downloaded woocommerce today and started setting it up but when i upload products to the page i cant get the thumbnails to show up on the shop page or on the product page and cant find anywhere in the plugin that works with the thumbnails. does anybody know how the thumbnails are generated with woocommerce? so far i love the plugin but cant get it to work since i cant get the thumbnails to show a picture. is it supposed to be the same picture i set in the product description and is just a smaller version or do i have to somewhere upload a thumbnail for the catalog and other thumbnails?

is there a way to post a photo of a screen shot of the problem since the site isnt ready for visitors yet so i can show the problem?

    Hi,

You should be able to see settings to manage your WooCommerce thumbnail sizes in the WooCommerce settings area.

    see here for more:
    http://docs.woothemes.com/document/using-the-appropriate-product-image-dimensions/

WooCommerce uses standard WordPress thumbnail functions to generate your thumbnails. Which theme are you using? If the theme is opimized for WooCommerce it will have defined sizes for your thumbnails.

I use http://screencloud.net/ for sharing screenshots.

I was having this problem with a theme that says it is woocommerce compatible in the description, but when I went to put the product in, the picture wouldn’t show up in the thumbnail, just like you are having trouble with. switched back to the Storefront theme and found the setting. What you have to do if you are using the storefront theme is when you are in your product click add media and then click set featured image and choose which image you want for the thumbnail. So I guess the lesson is always make sure that woocommerce says that the theme is compatible. I kept getting a message in my dashboard that the other theme I was using wasn’t. I know that this message is 10 months after the original post, but I figured I would post for future readers that have the same problem.
