WooCommerce Emails in Latin

I’m having a problem with the emails feature. All I get when I preview is some Latin text. When I open the template files they’re in php and I don’t know how to edit them. For the last two days I’ve been building my site with WooCommerce but will have to chuck the whole thing if I can’t format these emails.

Lynda.com has a video covering this topic but according to them, the emails are already set up in tabular format and just need minor tweaking. They look absolutely beautiful in the video.

Is there something wrong with my WooCommerce download? I’ve gone through the forum and followed the advice to delete and re-install WooCommerce, but with no improvement. I would very much appreciate a point in the right direction.
