Woo Commerce Product Categories?

I am trying to set up woo commerce on my site.

On the shop page I have 4 main product categories, I have then set up multiple sub-categories for each of these main categories.

When I click on one of these main categories, I am taken to some place-holder products that I have set up as a test, instead of a page listing all of the sub-categories.

Is it possible to set up woo commerce so that The shop page has 4 main product categories.

And these 4 main product categories then have multiple sub-categories and these sub-categories then have multiple products in them?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
