• I own a health site (proletehealth.com) where there’s an attached store from which I sell supplements. Whenever I try to checkout, I get a 404 page error. This is a problem with any checkout page. The cart works just fine and all account pages work fine. It’s just /checkout/, /checkout/pay, and /checkout/order-received that don’t work.

I’ve already verified that all pages exist and that there are no broken links. [woocommerce_checkout] appears on the appropriate page.

    I’m using WooCommerce 2.0.14.

I tried changing my permalink structure, but it made my cart page stop working — so I changed it back to the current structure which is:

    Common settings: post name
    Product permalink base: default

I’m using the theme Enfold by Kriesi

My plugin list (both inactive & active) is:
    Acurax social media widget 1.3
    Askimet 2.5.9 (inactive)
    bbPress 2.4
    Captcha 3.8.2
E-MAILiT Social Media Sharing Widget 3.5
Go Daddy Quick Setup 1.04 (inactive)
    Hello Dolly 1.6 (inactive)
    Jetpack by WordPress.com 2.2
    MailChimp for WP Lite 1.2
    Meeting Scheduler by vCita 3.1.0
    Simple Facebook Plugin 1.2.2
    Welcome to WordPress 1.0 (inactive)
    WordPress Social Ring 1.2.3
    WP-PostRatings 1.7.4

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am truly just frustrated and annoyed that just those checkout pages don’t work.

  • Hi,
    in the Woocommerce/settings/pages tab

    @uattah,

I’m having this exact same issue. Have you found a solution yet? I’m only getting 404 on “Checkout”, like you; and, like you, I’ve done everything I can think of and that has been suggested in forums to no avail. Tried switching back to “ugly” permalinks, tried turning off all my plugins and going back to default theme, created approximately four “new” checkout pages, stuck in the short-code, pointed Woo Commerce at said page in the settings, and each and every time I get a 404 error on “cart”. This is a dev site I’m working on and it’s literally stopped me in my tracks as I can’t continue developing the site’s functionality without this issue fixed. I’ve been dealing with this issue for like three weeks and It’s driving me crazy.

Thought I’d update this forum with my latest: Solved! My solution had to do with forcing the SSL on my dev site. I don’t have SSL on my dev site so when it was forcing “httpS” in the url for my cart page — 404! I un-ticked that option in the settings and all was hunky-dory again.

Also started having this issue. I DO have SSL on my pages but after someone would hit “Place Order” and it would try to take them to the /checkout/order-received/whatevereverthepagenumbergenerateshere it was not SSL protected so it would take it to 404 and the order would never go through. So I made sure that all “child” pages associated with the checkout page were SSL secure. Works like a charm now.

I had this same problem. I realized that what it was was I had unpublished those pages, and put them in draft form, in order to remove them from a menu.

When I ‘Published’ the Cart and Checkout pages, the links resolved again. Not sure if anyone else will have the same cause for this or not, but it’s an easy fix if it’s the case.
