    Hi all,

I just upgraded to 3.3 and since then I've gone in to try to revamp my blog background and header images. Everything works until I click on the UPLOAD BACKGROUND IMAGE button and a new screen comes up that says "Select A File to Upload" and when I click on the Select Files button nothing happens. No new screen pops up. Same thing happens for the header images.

    HELP!!!

    Stephanie

I tried it under Media and adding images in new posts and those pop up boxes DO work. So it's just under "Appearances" the the "Upload Selected Files" does not work.

When you click on browse or Choose an image from your computer, the next window should be a directory where you click on the image you want. Is is that screen that is not coming up? There is only one "pop-up" afaik.

I get the "Select a file to upload" blue box. When I click on "select files" below that it doesn't bring up the "File upload" screen from my computer allowing me to select the desired images.

Unless I misunderstand, you are getting some screens that are not normal.

    - deactivating all plugins (yes, all) to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s). If you can't get into your admin dashboard, try resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems. Also remember to deactivate any plugins in the mu-plugins folder. The easiest way is to rename that folder to mu-plugins-old

    - switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems. If you can't log in to change themes, you can remove the theme folders via FTP so the only one is twentyeleven. That will force your site to use it.

Did the plugin thing already. Once all were deactivated I still couldn't upload under Appearances--background image--upload new image. So I don't think it's that.

If I switch to Twenty Eleven will that change the whole look of my blog??!?!

Yes, but only until you try to upload an image and then switch back.
