I started using the “WP Mail” method inside the plugin settings so that I could use the native WordPress Email settings that I have configured.

I ran a test and mail is now going out using those predefined SMTP settings that I have set in WpAdmin->Settings->Email. So that’s good!

Only issue I’m having, the emails are all in plain text they are not using HTML. The email templates that are setup have .PHP extensions. I thought to change to .HTML but since there is PHP code inside them I know that will not work.

Any other ideas? Is there a way that I can force HTML on the WP side somehow?

Yes, the host is AWS SES (Send Email Service) and they support html emails. Reason for using WP Mail is to use the SMTP settings that have been configured for SES.

Is your template in full HTML, including the head tags, etc?
