when I try to log into my Dashboard the screen turns white and this message pops up:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_get_update_data() in /home/content/22/8464322/html/wp-admin/menu.php on line 34

It started happening after wordpress crashed while updating it.
I know I need to go through FTP and delete or rename something... I just dont know

Try a Google search on 'ftp tutorial'. You should find lots of articles on that.

Login to Cpanel and locate the your admin folder then edit your menu.php file on line 34

If you have backup, upload your menu.php file to this location wp-admin/menu.php in your public_html root directory or wherever your wordpress installation is or upload a new menu.php file from a new wordpress download here http://wordpress.org/download

    wp-admin/menu.php on line 34

Another option is to reinstall WordPress

Here are the steps that i have followed to solve this problems. Hope they will help you to solve your problem.
First thing we need to disable plugin.
So go to the File Manger of your website or use FTP client and locate the “plugins” folder in “wp-contents“.
Now after locating “plugins” folder rename this folder to “plugins.hold“
After doing that download latest versions of WP upload “wp-admin“, “wp-contents“, “wp-includes“. (I uploaded all this three folders.)
Now, try to login to your website. You will be able to log in to your system. It will be worked.
    even:
If you still can’t access the website after uploading this folder again then you need to delete all the themes except theme” TwentyEleven”, which is basic(default) theme.
Now enable your old plugins back.. you need to rename the new uploaded “plugins” folder name to “plugins.new” and rename the “plugins.hold” t0 again back to “plugins“.

Now if you get errors after enabling old plugins back then you need to disable the plugins back because it is not supported by the new WP version. You need to wait until plugin-developer provide the new update.

    {***make back up with hosting control panel before updating***}

    Hope it help you…
