Wither $user_nickname?

I’ve been using 1.5.1 for a while, and finally updated to 2.3. Whoo, lots of changes.

I’ve been displaying $user_nickname (which shows you the user you are logged in as) but it seems to be gone in 2.3.

Instead there is….?

$profileuser = get_user_to_edit($user_ID);
$profileuser->nickname

????

Is there some global var where this is stored?
